On Tuesday night, Dennis Wise was seen returning to camp proudly bearing an arsenal of gold stars after successfully completing his Bushtucker Trial.
But fans of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! have accused bosses of the show of making the underwater Temple of Gloom task easier for the former footballer over Iain Lee’s, who was forced to pull out when he attempted it last month.
Eagle-eyed fans pointed out that while Iain’s first compartment was filled with eels when he took part in the task – which left him in tears when he failed and had to receive oxygen – Dennis was given the luxury of a clear run to the next air pocket.

And after Dennis returned to camp and accused embattled Iain of lying about the depth of the water – prompting hosts Ant and Dec to step in and insist that the comedian was telling the truth – incensed fans flooded the micro-blogging site.
‘OMG, Dennis saying the water wasn’t as deep as Iain had described it,’ wrote one. ‘Come on Iain wasn’t that far out in guessing the correct depth, a damn sight closer than your guess! Noticed how he only said this when Jamie was with him.’
Another boldly stated in a tweet sent directly to Ant and Dec’s official account: ‘The trial was made easier for Dennis than it was for Iain. He’s a foot taller… how on earth was he supposed to get in there? Was it a fix for the little man to do it?’
Struggle: Last month, Iain Lee was seen struggling his way through the Bushtucker Trial
Helping hand: The comedian was given bursts of oxygen by medics after failing the task
Teary-eyed: He was left upset and teary-eyed when he returned to camp without any stars
Stated a third viewer: ‘No Dennis… The challenge wasn’t 100% the same as when Iain did it… There were b***dy sharks at the start of the path.’
Iain’s attempt at the task last month, saw him being given bursts of oxygen by a medic after struggling to breathe inside the tunnel in a tank of water, which he branded ‘f**king horrible’.
The radio presenter couldn’t hold back the sobs as he broke the tough news to the rest of the camp. Rebekah Vardy and Amir Khan later offered their views on crying and said it could be perceived as ‘weakness’.
When contacted by MailOnline for comment, a spokesperson for the show insisted: ‘[There’s] no truth in this at all, it’s exactly the same Trial. The only difference is that Dennis was doing the Trial for less stars (as celebrities have been voted off since Iain attempted this Trial).
Underwater: Dennis was also seen diving his way into the water as he took his turn in the task
Not alone: Not alone in the vent, Dennis was joined at first by water dragons and spiders before he faced his reptile nemesis after nabbing two stars towards meals for camp
Helping hand: Supporting him all the way through, Ant and Dec described what he facing in each compartment of the vent
Working in his favour: Crediting his small stature for helping him with the task, Dennis insisted it was ‘suited to him’ because he is ‘small’
‘So the first chamber in [Dennis’] Trial didn’t have critters in (whereas Iain’s Trial would have as he needed to get a star in it as he had more celebs to feed in camp) – the chamber was still there in [Dennis’] Trial, Dennis just had to swim through it but not collect any stars.’
In his task, Dennis – who survived the first vote-off of the series after winning immunity as part of the secret society Fright Club – was left sweating as a small crocodile jumped towards his face while he climbed through underwater vents.
The claustrophobic task saw the sports star dive into a pool of water, before swimming into narrow vents to attempt to collect eight stars in 10 minutes.
While some vents saw Dennis completely submerged in water, others created air pockets allowing the star to catch his breath as he furiously collected stars for camp.
Horror: The former footballer – who survived the first vote-off of the series after winning immunity as part of the secret society Fright Club – was left sweating as a small crocodile jumped towards his face while he climbed through underwater vents
Fearful: Dennis came face-to-face with another fearful aquatic reptile during the task
Golden boy: The erstwhile sportsman successfully collected stars for his delighted campmates
Not alone in the vent, Dennis was joined at first by water dragons and spiders before he faced his reptile nemesis. Not fazed by the critters, however, Dennis successfully retrieved all eight stars for camp.
Although, not getting through the challenge without a fright, Dennis hilariously exclaimed: ‘Oh Jesus, what the f*** have you got? Get out of it!’ when a crocodile snapped its jaw in front of him.
The accusations of task-fixing came as campmates Dennis, Amir and Jamie Lomas were accused by viewers of ‘bullying’ Iain.
The trio came under fire following a conversation they’d had on Tuesday night’s episode of the show, where they spoke away from camp about Dennis’ Bushtucker Trial that Iain had previously struggled with.
Drama: Dennis, Amir Khan and Jamie Lomas have been accused by viewers of ‘bullying’ their fellow campmate, comedian
The former footballer accused Iain of embellishing about the difficulty of the challenge, but the comments made left viewers at home feeling ‘uncomfortable’ and many were quick to call out the trio for singling out Iain.
Prior to completing his trial, Dennis had spoken with Iain about the challenge that he had previously endured, with his campmate giving the sports star the heads up about what it entails.
However, on his triumphant return back to camp with all eight stars, Dennis told pals Amir and Jamie that it wasn’t as bad as Iain had made it out to be. He said: ‘They gave me 10 minutes and I did it in five… there’s no way it was 3 metres deep, it was 1.5.’
‘So it wasn’t 3 metres then?’ Jamie asked in response, with Dennis insisting it hadn’t been.
Singled out: The trio have come under fire for their treatment of Iain in camp, with some viewers taking to Twitter claiming it has made them feel ‘uncomfortable’
Hitting out: Fans accused Dennie, Jamie and Amir of being ‘horrible’ to the comedian and criticised their behaviour on the social media site
Amir was then seen telling the camera: ‘It sounds like Iain has a lot of problems.’ He had previously been criticised by viewers for putting all the blame on Iain for strawberry-gate.
He had encouraged Iain to eat all the strawberries before sharing them with camp, but was later seen passing the blame onto his campmate as he insisted it had all been Iain’s idea – not his.
Commenting on the hush-hush conversation that took place between the trio, viewers penned via Twitter: ‘#ImACeleb Amir, Jamie and Dennis showing their true colours. Spiteful and ignorant. At least Iain knows when his children’s birthdays are! Ant & Dec have their measure!
‘Amir, Dennis & Jamie are like the group of b***hy girls at school who thought they were the dogs b*****ks!
Uncalled for: The trio came under fire following a conversation they’d had on Tuesday night’s episode of the show, where they spoke away from camp about Dennis’ latest Bushtucker Trial that Iain had previously struggled with
Harsh: The former footballer accused Iain of embellishing about the difficulty of the challenge
‘It’s not right’: Viewers felt strongly on Twitter that Iain was being subjected to ‘bullying’ behaviour from his fellow campmates
‘Iain is being BULLIED in that camp by Amir, Jamie and Dennis. you can see his face is sad, he’s not playing any games, they are. he’s being pushed out of the main group because he’s not like them and it’s not right. I feel sorry for him. they’re ruining his experience.
‘Although Iain can be annoying I don’t like the way that Amir,Dennis and even Jamie talk about him sometime. Feels like they think they are better or superior to him. Just because they may be considered more “manly” #ImACeleb.
‘Very quickly gone off Dennis, Jamie and Amir. Who gives a f**k how deep it is!? Iain was just trying to give you a heads up and you talk behind his back like that? You bunch of c***s. Iain or Toff to win!!
Harsh: Dennis told pals Amir and Jamie that it wasn’t as bad as Iain had made it out to be. He said: ‘They gave me 10 minutes and I did it in five… there’s no way it was 3 metres deep, it was 1.5’
Awkward: Amir was seen telling the camera that he thinks Iain has a lot of ‘problems’ in reference to his lack of star-winning in the trials he has taken part in
‘3 little snakes! Amir, Jamie and dennis are really showing there true colours now! #imacelebrity.
‘Why are Amir, Jamie, and Dennis finding everyway they can to bully Iain? Disgraceful #ImACeleb.
‘Dennis, Jamie and Amir are horrible towards Iain, they constantly keep talking behind the guys back. the guy is trying, stop being so horrible.
‘The way Amir, Jamie & Dennis are treating Iain is making me feel a bit uncomfortable… #imaceleb.’ (sic)
MailOnline have contacted representatives for Dennis, Amir and Jamie.
Unfair: Amir had previously passed the blame onto Iain during strawberry-gate – insisting the comedian had suggested eating the treats instead of sharing them with camp when it had been Amir instigating it from the beginning
Playful: Dennis’ height has been a recurring joke on the show since the series began and unable to resist poking fun once more, Dec told him as he made his way through the chambers: ‘You’re the perfect size for this one’
